The Before + After Standard

What every profile passes,
before it's published.

Six rules. Each provider on Before + After clears every one before their profile goes live. No grandfathering, no exceptions, no version-by-version softening.

Rule one — Transparent pricing

The price is published, and it is the price.

Every provider on the platform publishes the cost of its verified services. Flat rate where the service allows it and per-unit pricing where the procedure is genuinely unit-priced, with the unit visible before an appointment request. The displayed price is the current verified offer for that service; the provider confirms the appointment details.

Rule two — Clear next steps

You can see what happens before you share your information.

When a provider supports online appointment requests, Before + After shows the available request path and makes clear that the provider still has to respond. Some profiles are available for research and comparison before online requests are enabled. We do not present an appointment request as a confirmed booking or collect payment details with that request.

Rule three — Reviewed and rated

The work is visible, in the visitor's own words.

Every provider on the platform has a verifiable rating and review history. We aggregate public reviews honestly — the source is named on every review — and we layer our own verified reviews on top as they accumulate from bookings made through the platform. A rating below 4.8 across at least 150 reviews disqualifies. Reviews can confirm a provider's quality; they cannot rescue a gallery that does not.

Rule four — Team and presentation

Real people, trained for the work, presenting it honestly.

Every provider on the platform has a verified team. Each practitioner's license is confirmed with the Texas Medical Board. The delegating physician is named where state regulation requires one. Estheticians and cosmetologists are tagged with what they can and cannot perform under state rules. The practice presents itself in a way that fits the audience the platform serves — a tone that takes the work seriously without taking itself too seriously.

Rule five — Before-and-after gallery

The work, shown without arrows.

Every provider on the platform maintains a gallery of before-and-after pairs that we have reviewed for integrity. No yellow highlights, no red arrows, no labels on the images themselves. We check each pair for manipulation, filtering, reverse-image matches, and AI generation. The gallery has to read as a system — consistent lighting, framing, and angle across the set. A scrapbook of inconsistent posts fails this rule even when the individual images are authentic.

Rule six — Active social storefront

A real presence the visitor can verify.

Every provider on the platform maintains a current, on-brand social presence — usually Instagram, occasionally TikTok. We check that the handles are linked, that posts are recent, and that the feed reads as an extension of the practice rather than as a feed of clinical imagery. A provider with no social presence today is a provider we cannot vouch for.

The release gate

Before any profile is published, one question.

Before a provider's profile goes live on Before + After, one question gets asked. Would I send someone I love here? The six rules are how we answer it with a system — they are how the question gets handled at scale. But the rules exist to make the answer obvious to a stranger on a single scroll. Anything that fails the question, on any module, on any scroll-through, does not publish.
